Murcia-San Javier airport is located on the north shore of the Mar Menor, in the village of Santiago de la Ribera, part of the municipality of San Javier. It is an air station open to civil traffic. It is just 15 minutes drive to Hacienda Riquelme. Being such a small airport, it can often take only half an hour from landing to walking into your apartment at Hacienda Riquelme.

Murcia Airport is becoming busier with the arrival of several low cost airlines such as Bmi baby, Flybe, Jet2, Easyjet Mytravellite and BA. Airlines, such as Monarch, are also starting service.

In June 2004, the terminal expansion, with an addition 1,100 square metres in the arrivals area, was inaugurated. Two new baggage reclaim carousels were installed, as well as office spaces for four car hire companies and five shops. Due to the heavy traffic increases in the past years and given the urgency with which the passenger service improvements were required, the expansion at Murcia Airport was added with prefabricated modules.

1. Follow road from airport, go round major roundabout taking 2nd exit in right hand lane towards and onto E15/A7 MURCIA
2. After approx 18 km from E15/A7 take AP7 to CARTAGENA [and Torrevieja] - you will pass through two toll roads currently costing euro1.80 each - if paying cash you must go to the toll booth with a sign of a 'head' rather than 'card'
3. Stay on AP7 until Exit 780 signposted MU301 Sucina and San Javier Norte
4. Turn onto this exit which immediately splits, take MU301 to Sucina which is first right
5. At next roundabout take 2nd exit signposted RM1 Santomera - you are now on RM1 motorway
6. Take Exit 13 signposted Sucina Norte
7. At roundabout take 4th exit [over motorway] signposted RM1 San Javier
8. At next roundabout take 1st exit signposted Hacienda Riquelme Golf, RMF19, FMF48 Gea Y Truyols, Avileses
9. At next roundabout take 1st exit signposted Hacienda Riquelme Golf, RMF19, FMF48 La Tercia, Gea Y Truyols, Murcia A30
10. At next roundabout take 2nd exit signposted Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort, camino de servicio

1. You now go through security for the complex
2. At first roundabout take 1st exit onto Adriatico
3. At next roundabout take 1st exit onto Atlantico [club house now on your left]
4. Apartment is approx 1 mile from here
5. You now drive over 2 more roundabouts [but can only stay on Atlantico] and you are looking for block 78, apartment number Bajo B which is on the left [at this point there are no more blocks on the right, only lemon groves]. Numbers are in descending order.
