Jack Nicklaus, the "Gold Bear", founded Nicklaus Design in 1973, a company that has created 300 golf courses around the world. The most prestigious golf courses bear his signature: PGA West-Private, The Bear´s Club, PGA National-Champion Course.

Jack Nicklaus, the best player of all times, has been capable of transferring his golfing experience to the design world. He is now at the helm of the most prestigious golf course design company, Nicklaus Design, a firm that has created over 275 golf courses around the world since its creation in 1973. As a guest, you can play on your resort´s own golf course, as well as on the eight other courses belonging to the Polaris World resorts. Of these nine, six courses make up the Nicklaus Golf Trail, a circuit of courses with varying characteristics and levels of play. Hacienda Riquelme is structured around a magnificent, 18 holes, par 72 golf course by Nicklaus Design. This course is different from the others in the Nicklaus Golf Trail, a group of six golf courses that make up Europe's best golf offering. Ample fairways are combined with hard to approach greens and bunkers ready to complicate your game. All of this is surrounded by wild grass and flowers, olive trees and large lakes.

Hacienda Riquelme is a Nicklaus design, 18 hole signature course providing a lush green setting to this world class resort.The course is being built to international championship standards. The technology used is providing a constant water supply to maintain the pristine condition of the fairways and greens year round.

Golf is the very essence of this resort, featuring unique, individual courses. Jack Nicklaus, the most outstanding player of all time, has designed three magnificent courses for Condado de Alhama: two Bear's Best (the first in Europe) and one Signature Course.

2,500,000 m2 of greens along with 800,000 m2 of vegetation turn Condado de Alhama into a major natural "lung" with breathtaking landscapes encompassing hills and plains, lakes and palm trees, in a veritable medley of textures and colours where homes stand out amidst endless kilometres of green areas.
 

Each of the Bear's best golf courses features the finest 18-hole sets and 160 hectares of greens. One is a desert-style Nicklaus course, while the other features the finest parklands -authentic Nicklaus masterpieces for your enjoyment. Yet, the Signature Course is the most ambitious course in the entire Condado, covering a 96 hectare area. It fully matches the local terrain and features sharp ups and downs, making the best use of the area´s natural characteristics and achieving exclusive uniqueness.

It will be an 18-hole, par 68 golf course with ample tees and highly compensated, where the recovery holes will benefit everyone's scorecards.Its spectacular design demands a diverse range of shots to successfully overcome the obstacles, making its round an ideal place to hold tournaments, with the extra incentive offered by the various water hazards that embellish the course and global views. The lakes play an important role as the game progresses, requiring of the player great skills and composure when facing these types of obstacles.

A very unique golf course at Terrazas de la Torre will soon be taking its place among the growing list of exciting courses along the Nicklaus Golf Trail. While this is a desert-style golf course, the course relies on many of the features of the links golf courses of the British Isles to define its look and character.The course is very lightly bunkered and will instead rely on its dramatic rolling fairway and green undulations to provide its challenge.

The golf course will be designed to play firm and fast and players will probably find better results by playing their shots low along the ground. The fairways will snake through the desert dune-like features resulting in numerous interesting angles and strategic options. Additionally, the course will come to a thrilling finish as both the ninth and eighteenth holes play around the edge of a six hectare lake. Terrazas de la Torre is sure to become a highlight of the Nicklaus Golf Trail.

La Torre Golf Resort course offers 18 holes, par 68 and four sets of tees.  Distances (metres): (black) 5,350; (blue) 4,934; (white) 4,422; (red) 3,822. This course features over five hectares of sophisticated bunkers that separate the holes, creating strategic points which provide added value to the shots. Plus, a denser grass has been planted around the bunkers, creating the optimum wind shot effect.  Three lakes will complete the exuberant landscape of this course.

One of the shorter courses, the La Torre Golf Resort is ideal for both average players and those with a high handicap. At the same time, La Torre Golf Resort preserves the challenge for experienced players who, teeing off from the furthest tee, will have to devise the appropriate strategy to cover the fairway with the perfect shot. Completed with all the perfect features for practice, La Torre Golf Resort is undoubtedly a mandatory stopover for golf players.

Instead of size, the course is oriented more toward creating difficulties and challenges for the player. The design of the course presents the player with numerous short game options around the greens. The course rewards innovative and bold shots. El Valle Golf Resort includes groups of subtly shaped bunkers that sink into the desert landscape of holes surrounded by natural rocks.

 To improve upon the desert style, the golf course will include an extensive variety of bushes and other native desert plants. In conclusion, two lakes that flow into brooks and cascades will provide the perfect touch to make El Valle Golf Resort a unique stop among the golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus.
